The Taiwan Church That Looks Like Cinderella’s Glass Slipper.

 A church shaped like a giant version of Cinderella's fabled glass slipper has been built in Taiwan to entice female visitors.

Over 320 tinted glass panels were used to build the 16-metre-tall high-heeled shoe, which was constructed by the local government of Taiwan's Southwest Coast National Scenic Area.

The church will not hold ceremonies, but is to be used as a venue and backdrop for couples' pre-wedding photographs – a popular tradition in the country.

"We want to make it a blissful, romantic avenue," the administration's recreation section manager Pan Tsuei-ping. "Every girl imagines how they will look like when they become the bride."

Although it is not clear what is inside the building, a stage is located in the opening of the shoe, about halfway up the structure.

According to local media reports, a government spokesman said the building would be geared towards attracting women.

"There will be 100 female-oriented features in the church like maple leaves, chairs for lovers, biscuits and cakes," said Zheng Rongfeng.

The project was reportedly inspired by a local story. In the 1960s, a 24-year-old girl who suffered from Blackfoot disease had to have both of her legs amputated.

This led to the cancellation of her wedding, and she remained unmarried and spent the rest of her life at a church.

Female and married male employees at the Guangzhou based company did not receive adult toys as their bonus. Instead, they were handed an assortment of goods, ranging from T-shirts, hot sauce, slabs of pork, beach sandals, and dehumidifiers. The dehumidifiers, an equally strange gift as an annual bonus, are in response to the humid climate in southern China.

While the distribution of the sex dolls was unusual, the holiday party quickly turned even stranger when Wang insisted upon a demonstration of how to inflate the plastic women. 



Two unlucky men, and one confused woman, were asked to stand at the front of the dining hall and use a pump to inflate the doll. An even more unlucky single man was then asked to lie down and demonstrate how to use the sex doll. Fortunately, he kept his clothes on, or at least he kept them on long enough for someone to take the photo.

Weird as this annual bonus was, it is not unprecedented in China. Last year, Qihoo360, a tech firm based in Beijing, offered an end of the year incentive to its male employees that included a night with Julia Kyoka, a Japanese porn star famous for her J-cup breasts. 

Going back to 2014, a chat appeared on Weibo where contributors could share their strangest company bonus. Items listed in the chat included Gingko tree saplings, spicy candy, lengths of rope, soy sauce, and apples. Compared to some of those items, a sex doll doesn’t sound so bad.

MIAMI — A multi-million dollar homeowner in South Florida found an uninvited guest swimming in his pool one morning.

The homeowner called deputies after spotting the 8-foot crocodile.

 An agreement has been reached by two Kenyan men to marry one woman who have been dating the men secretly for over four years now.

Sylvester Mwendwa and Elijah Kimani signed the agreement after the lady refused to choose between the two, claiming she loves them equally. They would stay in her house on a rotational basis and will both help raise any children she bears, according to the agreement.

Community policing Officer, Abdallah Abdulrahman was said to have persuaded the two men to marry the woman after he saw them fighting over her in Mombasa County.

“I talked to both of them and they claim they love her equally and cannot live without her. I asked the woman to choose but she refused, saying ‘I cannot lose either of them, I love them both’”, Mr. Abdulrahman was quoted by the Daily Nation.

Mr. Mwendwa openly told the BBC African Service that he loved the woman and said the contract would “set boundaries” and “keep the peace between him and Mr. Kimani.

“It could have been very dangerous if the other man would have come to her house and caught me… So our agreement is good as it sets boundaries and helps us keep peace’’, he said.

But Lawyers in the country say the marriage would only be recognized if the men could prove that polyandry was or is part of their custom. (Polyandry is a type of marriage why by a woman marries more than one husband).

Detail of the agreement the local Daily Nation Newspaper published has it that: “We have agreed that from today we will not threaten or have jealous feelings because of our wife, who says she’s not ready to let go of any of us,”.

“Each one will respect the day set aside for him. We agree to love each other and live peacefully. No-one has forced us to make this agreement,” the statement agreement concluded.

The woman, with two kids is said to have lost her husband some years back and says she does not want to be named in the media.

Meanwhile, People in the country have reacted with shock to the marriage, arguing that it is not acceptable in terms of their culture and religion.

A piglet born with the face of a monkey has baffled locals and prompted both experts and social media users to speculate on what could have caused the defect.

The facial deformity resulted in the mutant pig having a simian jaw, a considerably shorter snout and a protruding forehead so that it resembled a monkey.

Born without her front legs and abandoned on the street by her original owners, Estrella, a one-and-a-half-year-old mutt, has not let her disability hold her back.

Adopted by a couple running an animal shelter in the small Peruvian town of Tinga Maria, Estrella has gained celebrity status by hopping around -- just like a kangaroo.

An increasing number of visitors have come to the shelter since her arrival, with many families eager to adopt her.

Ivan Escobar and his wife Elva Carhuaz say they found Estrella when she was six months old.

"She is like a baby who starts learning how to walk. That is how we see her, from that day (when they found Estrella) until today, that is what she learned," Carhuaz said.

Khadija Khatoon is a 21-year-old woman from Kolkata, West Bengal, India and she was born without a face. While not completely faceless, this woman has no eyes or nose. The only facial feature she has is a slit on her left cheek. The slit isn’t quite a mouth either, as Khatoon’s head and face are covered with excessive skin folds. Doctors have diagnosed her with Neurofibromatosis. When she was born, her parents, Rashid Mulla and Amina Bibi, knew she was different. She did not open her eyes for two months and there were excessive skin folds over her eyes.

When her parents finally took their infant to the hospital to consult with doctors, Khadija ended up spending six months in the hospital as she was subjected to a battery of tests. At the end of those six months, the physicians informed her parents that, in all likelihood, any attempt to surgically correct Khadija’s condition would result in her death. So her parents returned to their rural village with no idea what to expect or how long they would be able to keep their only daughter.

The already weird situation became even stranger as the extra flaps of skin grew larger. Soon, Khadija’s head was covered with irregular swelling and growths. Her neighbors shunned her and she was unable to attend school. Despite not having a normal mouth, Khadija is able to speak through the slit, although her voice is not very loud. While she has every reason to complain, the young woman proclaims that she is happy and has no regrets about how her life has turned out.

In recent weeks, her situation has received international media attention. A local official, Rupak Dutta, was passing through Kolkata when he noticed Khadja. He decided to help address her situation by petitioning the government for money to help the young woman combat her affliction. Surgeons have been informed of her case and now speculate that her Neurofibromatosis is hiding a dangerous tumor, going so far as to suggest she may die if surgery isn’t performed to remove the excess skin and the underlying growth. Such a surgery is outside the financial capabilities of her family of five, which survives on a little over $100 per month. Not to be deterred, Dutta organized a Crowdfunder page to raise money for the surgery.
